Pacific Fuel Cell Opens Component Plant
Pacific Fuel Cell Corp. of Tustin, California, has opened a 24,000-square-foot plant in Willoughby, Ohio, to produce fuel cell components, including bipolar plates. The first two press machines, including an 800 ton compression press, have been installed and are producing bipolar plates.
"We have achieved our targeted March 1 date for the production of the blank plates and have successfully transitioned manufacturing equipment to our new Ohio facility," says Dan McCluskey, vice president of sales and marketing and business development. "We believe that we are poised to meet our business forecast, which will lead to a very busy and successful year." PFCE president George Suzuki says, "Our Ohio plant will be configured to produce $100 million of business."
