Arbin Delivers PEMFC Testing System
Arbin recently delivered its 10kW integrated fuel cell testing system for
testing proton-electrolyte-membrane fuel cells
to a U.S. government institution. The system consists
of five gas handling units for hydrogen gas and
four reformate gases for fuel simulation. A gas
mixer for the reformate gases is included. For
the oxidant line is one set of gas handling units
for air. A set of 300slpm (standard liter per
minute) humidification units for the fuel line
and a set of 600slpm humidification units for
the oxidant line are installed in the system to
humidify reactant gases prior to delivery into
the fuel cell. Fuel cell stack-cooling and temperature-traced
piping are also included.
The water-cooled electronic load consists of one
channel configured at 0-50V and 1000A/100A for
a maximum of 10kW discharge power. Four-frequency
AC impedance measurement for measuring the stacks
and cells internal impedance is included.
Special hardware interlock for temperature, flammable
gases, other emergency operations, and software
interlock for set parameters are implemented for
safety protection features.
Arbins dew point humidification technology
offers precise dew point temperature control within
±1°C with a response time of ~5°C
per minute. It properly humidifies gaseous reactants
to a set dew point temperature prior to delivery
into the fuel cell.
