AR HPM’s Cover 4-18GHz With High Output Power

ar

AR RF/Microwave Instrumentation has introduced a new line of Hybrid Power Modules (HPMs). These HPMs are small, lightweight and compact, yet deliver linear output powers approaching 5 watts across an instantaneous bandwidth of 4-18GHz. They provide gain flatness, can withstand infinite output mismatch, and are available in various power and gain configurations.

In addition, AR can customize HPM’s to meet individual specifications where narrowband and/or higher power requirements are demanded. Both military and commercial solutions can be provided at a cost-effective price for applications that demand high-performance in a compact size. True hermetic connectorized or open pallet type custom designs, which can be integrated into higher order assemblies, can also be provided, giving alternate solutions for today’s demanding applications.

Typical applications for these HPMs include radar systems, ECM, ECCM, jammers, wireless communication, data links, and drivers for microwave power modules.

Low Leakage Current EMC Filters w/UL Approval

schaffner

Schaffner EMC filters in the FN 2450 range have successfully passed certification by Underwriters Laboratories. Now equipment intended for export to the U.S. can also benefit from the functional light-weight construction of the filters and from their greatly reduced leakage current compared to conventional filters.

FN 2450 EMC noise filters are particularly distinguished by their low leakage current of only 0.002 to 0.73mA, depending on the version. This makes them particularly suitable for use with sensitive residual current circuit breakers for applications where protection of life and limb and/or fire prevention are of paramount concern. FN 2450 also meets the strict requirements of IEC/EN60601-1, which allows use in medical technology without reservations.

FN 2450 filters are designed for rated currents of 6 to 20 A (up to 55°C without derating) for single phase networks ≤250 VAC. The compact filters immediately have UL approval, in addition to ENEC and CSA, and meet the requirements of the RoHS Directive.

RF Vector Signal Analyzer

National Instruments has introduced a 14GHz version of its PXIe-5665 high-performance RF vector signal analyzer, which features low phase noise and high dynamic range and, thanks to its PXI platform, can deliver measurement speeds up to 20 times faster than box instruments and for less cost. Additionally, it takes advantage of multicore computing architectures and parallel programming capabilities through NI LabVIEW system design software. It also offers peer-to-peer data streaming for signal processing and a flexible multiple input, MIMO architecture for phase-coherent measurements. Such features make it well suited for demanding RF test applications including radar, satellite, radio and harmonic testing.

Aluminum Enclosure Provides EMI/RFI Protection

Bud Industries Inc. is offering a die-cast aluminum enclosure that provides superior EMI/RFI protection and an IP67/NEMA 4X waterproof seal for as little as half the cost of the leading competing product. Bud’s new ANS series EMI/RFI waterproof enclosure has a double-channel sealing system that enables breakthroughs in shielding, watertightness, and price.

Unlike competing enclosures that offer an EMI/RFI seal using metal-to-metal contact in part of the box lid, the ANS Series uses a continuous EMI/RFI gasket around the entire perimeter of the box to provide a higher level of protection. A second gasket, made of long-lasting, one-piece silicone, seals out dust and moisture. This seal is enhanced by screws outside the sealing area that assure a uniformly tight seal and help the enclosure meet the exceptional IP67 standard (submersible up to 30 minutes).

Available in 18 sizes ranging from 2.83 x 2.64 x 1.53 inches to 9.45 x 6.30 x 3.35 inches, the boxes are easily machined and modified. Bud is more willing than some enclosure manufacturers to make modifications, such as custom cutouts that allow for cable entry.
