Rencz Joins EU-funded “Network of Excellence”
Prof. Marta Rencz has been elected to the Board of Management
of the EU-funded Network of Excellence (NoE) PATENT-DfMM as
manager of the Modeling and Simulation work package. In this
capacity she will serve as liaison between the board and the
16 university and industrial partners participating in the
simulation activities of the PATENT project.
Prof. Rencz is head of the department of electron devices
at the Technical University of Budapest and is the CEO of
MicReD Ltd., which was acquired by Flomerics Group in April
2005. She is on the organizing committee and program committee
of several international conferences and has published her
theoretical and practical results in more than 250 technical
papers.
The NoE PATENT-DfMM aims to establish a collaborative team
to provide European industry with support in the field of
Design for Micro and Nano Manufacture to ensure
that problems affecting the manufacture and reliability of
products based on micro nano technologies (MNT) can be addressed
before prototype and pre-production.
The Modeling and Simulation work package will support the
process of robust design, packaging and assembly of the next
generation of micro and nano technology based products, working
closely with the other technical work packages to address
the main research challenges in DfMM. A collaborative service
to industry will be established in the form of a virtual lab.
