SBS Battery Has More Power in Same Footprint

EnerSys’s SBS190F is the newest and highest capacity thin-plate pure lead (TPPL) VRLA battery in the PowerSafe SBS line. It is up to 10% more powerful than conventional VRLA batteries in the same footprint to provide additional capacity in existing cabinets and enable the design of new cabinets with smaller battery compartments and yet the units will provide increased battery capacity for telecommunications and other reserve power applications.

The SBS190F is more resistant to self-discharge and positive grid corrosion, which enables the battery to provide a shelf life of up to three times that of lead-calcium batteries, and offers an increase in power density without sacrificing life. The design life is greater than 10 years.

The 12V SBS190F has a nominal capacity of 190Ah at C8/175Vpc/25C. With dimensions of 22.1"L x 4.9"W x 12.4”H (561mm x 125mm x 316mm), the SBS190F weighs 132 pounds (60kg) and features an operating temperature range of -40C to 50C (-40F to 122F).
