ALCO to Offer Rechargeable Battery Recycling

Duckwall-ALCO Stores, Inc. in Abilene, Kansas, has joined a national program called Call2Recycle providing a convenient way to recycle used rechargeable batteries.

Now people can drop these items in their local store’s recycling bin. Made from products such as nickel, lithium and lead, rechargeable batteries are found in many portable electronics, such as cellular phones, cordless phones, laptop computers, portable printers and cordless power tools.

“We are absolutely committed to doing our share for the environment,” said Bruce Dale, president and CEO of Duckwall-ALCO Stores. “We know that participating in Call2Recycle is the right thing to do.”
