Smaller Batteries Service Single-Phase UPSs

EnerSys has extended its DataSafe HX line to include smaller-sized batteries for single-phase uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems. Seven new models, the HX25 through the HX150, offer between 23 and 150W/cell at the 15minute rate to a 1.67V end voltage. These valve-regulated lead-acid batteries have a 10-year design life and are for use by UPS original equipment manufacturers as well as data center and facility managers in the information industry.

The batteries feature high-conductivity recessed brass terminals; high-integrity, long-life terminal seals; corrosion-resistant lead-calcium-tin alloy positive and negative grids for efficient recharge and long life; and hermetically sealed containers and covers that prevent leaks and resist shock and vibration.

All DataSafe batteries have a -22F to 113F (-30C to 45C) operating range and can be stored for up to six months at 77F (25C) before needing a recharge. Available in flame retardant material, they can safely be recharged at high-current rates and meet UL and IATA certification for non-hazardous and non-spillable shipping.
