Electrotherm Launches Battery-Run Two-Wheeler
The Hindu Business Line reports that Electrotherm Ltd. has introduced YoSpeed, India’s first 750W vehicle approved by the Automotive Regulatory Authority of India. This ‘No Petrol Scooter’, with 33AH battery and 750 watts motor, can carry two persons and run for 500km at the cost of one liter of petrol (Rs 50).
YoSpeed, priced at Rs 35,466, will have a maximum speed of 45km per hour for a single rider and be made available across India. YoSpeed will compete with the regular petrol-run two-wheelers in the 75-100 cc segment and its owner will be required to obtain a registration and licence from the RTO. Eighty-five percent of equipment used in YoSpeed is indigenous and its battery weighs 41kg, chargeable in six to eight hours with a power consumption of 1.6 units. With a single charge, it can carry one person 80km and two persons 65km.
