Cobasys to Power Verizon Vans, Military Vehicles
Cobasys of Orion, Michigan, has supplied its nickel- metal hydride NiMHax® 336-70 battery systems to Enova Systems of Torrance, California, for integration into specially designed hybrid service vans for Verizon. The NiMHax system will support Enova’s post transmission parallel hybrid drive system. It includes integrated battery management system hardware and software, redundant safety controls, packaging, wiring, and thermal management based on new liquid cooling systems for optimized performance in high power hybrid electric vehicles. Fully integrated control algorithms optimize energy management functions and product durability.
In addition, Cobasys has supplied NiMHax® systems for integration into hybrid electric heavy trucks developed by Armor Holdings Inc. for the U.S. Army. Soldiers in Ft. Lewis, Washington, have begun the military utility assessment testing with mission simulations.
