Toyota Reveals Hybrid X

Toyota revealed its Hybrid X at the 77th International Geneva Motor Show. The four-door, four-seat open-space concept extends the use of Toyota's Hybrid Synergy Drive® which was launched in 1997 with the Prius. Hybrid X's exterior shape includes two U shapes created by the massive upper glass frame area and pillars. When viewed from above this gives the impression of a vast X. Rear-hinged passenger doors open electronically at the touch of a button. The smooth lines of the front are unbroken by headlamps integrated into the dashboard as part of the car's interior. These LED lamps are “intelligent” and display graphic forms through animation to communicate safety information to pedestrians or other drivers, such as distances, acceleration and braking. The drive-by-wire steering pad features a center screen to relay information about the energy flow path, fuel consumption, and gear position. Interactive navigation and Bluetooth connectivity is provided by another screen in front of the driver.
