Saft Wins U.S. Defense Logistics Agency Contract

Saft has been awarded a major multi-year contract by the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency to supply the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps with a family of lithium sulfur dioxide (Li-SO2) batteries. The terms of the contract include six Li-SO2 batteries for several portable military communication, GPS and rescue systems. This contract was awarded to Saft for 100% of the U.S. military's needs for this type of battery. It is an indefinite quantity contract with a two-year base period for up to $10 million and three one-year option periods for a total of up to $26.6 million. The contract will be supplied from Saft's Valdese, North Carolina, facility.
