AMETEK's Ultra Precision Technologies Division

AMETEK Inc. of Paoli, Pennsylvania, has formed a new Ultra Precision Technologies Division that brings together its Taylor Hobson Division with Solartron Metrology and Precitech. Taylor Hobson of Leicester, England, a leader in ultra-precision measurement instrumentation and a pioneer in the development of instruments for metrology and nanotechnology. was acquired in 2004 by AMETEK. In 2005, the company acquired U.K.-based Solartron Metrology, a leader in digital and analog instruments used in the precision measurement of machined and fabricated parts. In late 2006, AMETEK acquired Precitech, a U.S. manufacturer of ultra-precision machining systems for nanotechnology, military, defense and ophthalmic markets. The new AMETEK Ultra Precision Technologies is headquartered in Leicester, with manufacturing operations in Bognor Regis, England, and Keene, New Hampshire, and a global sales and service network.
