Battery for Saturn Aura Green Line Hybrid Sedan

Cobasys of Orion, Michigan, will provide their NiMHax® nickel metal hydride battery system for GM's 2007 Saturn Aura Green Line hybrid mid-size sedan which will be available to consumers in the spring of 2007. The Aura Green Line, which combines sophisticated controls and a unique electric motor/generator mated to their 2.4L Ecotec four-cylinder engine and the Cobasys battery system, delivers a 25% fuel economy improvement over the base Aura XE model. It provides an electric power assist during acceleration, increased fuel economy through engine shut-off at idle, fuel cut-off during deceleration, and regenerative braking. Cobasys confirmed their plug-and-play NiMHax 36V system was designed specifically for GM's Saturn Green Line hybrid applications. The NiMHax 36V systems will be manufactured at Cobasys's facility in Springboro, Ohio
