Energizer Cell Phone Chargers to Gulf Coast Cities

Energizer Holdings, Inc. is powering up disaster response teams in five cities along the Gulf Coast by donating hundreds of units of the Energizer® Energi To Go™ instant cell phone chargers to local emergency responders before the device becomes available nationwide.

Energi To Go is a portable battery-powered device that supplies power to most wireless phones, charging them instantly so that users can start making phone calls in as few as 30 seconds. As part of the company’s ongoing “Plan. Prepare. Protect.™” hurricane preparedness program, Energizer has committed to donating nearly 1,000 units to disaster response teams, including local American Red Cross chapters, city emergency management teams and homeland security offices in Tampa, Miami, West Palm Beach, New Orleans and Houston.

“We developed Energi To Go because more and more Americans are cutting the cord, but it clearly can help emergency responders charge up their wireless phones while they’re in the field helping others,” said Mike Rivard, general manager of product development for Energizer.
