San Joaquin RTD's GM Hybrid-Powered Buses
The San Joaquin Regional Transit District (RTD)
of Stockton, California, celebrated the addition
of six hybrid buses to its mass transit fleet.
The buses are General Motors’ diesel-electric
hybrids manufactured by Gillig Corp. of Hayward,
California.
The six buses are the first to be delivered to
a hybrid bus purchasing consortium consisting
of numerous transit agencies. They plan to purchase
up to 157 GM hybrid-powered buses, including 50
to San Joaquin RTD.
