Altairnano Appoints Burke to Advisory Board

Altair Nanotechnologies Inc. of Reno, Nevada, has named Andrew F. Burke, Ph.D. to its scientific advisory board. Burke is on the research faculty of the Institute of Transportation Studies at University of California, Davis.

“I have been involved with the design, modeling, testing and analysis of electric and hybrid vehicles for over 30 years and, based on my experience, I believe that Altairnano’s exciting new battery technology represents a signficiant step toward the goal of designing and producing mass-market electric vehicles,” commented Burke.

“Dr. Burke’s appointment to our board brings substantial knowledge to enhance our battery program,” said Altairnano president and CEO, Alan J. Gotcher, Ph.D.

Burke holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in applied mathematics from Carnegie Institute of Technology and a M.A. in aerospace engineering and a Ph.D. in aerospace and mechanical sciences from Princeton University. Since 1974, his work has involved many aspects of electric and hybrid vehicle design, analysis, and testing.
