RBRC to Promote Recycling at NASCAR Races
The Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corp. will
promote recycling during at least four NASCAR
races this year through a new education campaign.
The Green Means Go Recycle program
includes a 53-foot exhibit with a full-size racing
simulator car. The RBRC plans to educate spectators
on rechargeable battery and cell phone recycling
during races October 14 at Lowes Motor Speedway
in Charlotte, North Carolina; October 29 at the
Atlanta Motor Speedway in Georgia; and November
5 at the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas.
Richard Karn, a celebrity spokesman for the RBRC,
will attend some of the events for autographs
and photos.
The RBRC is targeting NASCAR fans because they
frequently use power tools and other portable
electronics, said Ralph Millard, RBRC executive
vice president. NASCAR fans are 20% more likely
than non-fans to own electric handheld power tools,
according to Simmons Research surveys.
