ARBL Wins CII's Efficiency
India’s leading battery manufacturer, Amara
Raja Batteries Ltd., has been awarded the 5S Excellence
Award 2005 by the Confederation of Indian Industry
(CII).
The first battery company to win the award, ARBL
scored 732 points out of 1,000.
The CII’s 5S Award is patterned after a Japanese
procedure that stands for ‘seiri’ (sort),
‘seiton’ (systematic arrangement), ‘seiso’
(shine), ‘seiketsu’ (standardise) and
‘shitsuke’ (sustain).
“The 5S structured approach has led to commitment
at every level, and higher standards of efficiency
and production,” said Jay Dev Galla, ARBL’s
managing director.
