UQM's Air Force Contract Expanded
UQM Technologies Inc. has been awarded a $1.08
million supplement to an existing contract from
the U.S. Air Force pushing the total amount to
$1.83 million.
The contract calls for the conversion of a conventional
one-ton pickup truck to all-electric operation,
while the supplement adds the development of an
electronic motor/generator controller.
“This program is focused on the development
and application of high power silicon carbide
modules that are currently not available,”
Jon Lutz, UQM’s director of engineering,
said.
