Numeric Power to Sell Panasonic's Battery

India’s leading UPS manufacturer, Numeric Power Systems, has been appointed the sole national distributor of high performance SLA Batteries of consumer electronic major Panasonic.

“This will help us in hiking Numeric’s turnover from the present $6 million to $10 million in 2005,” Numeric’s managing director R. Chellappan told reporters.

The company’s wholly-owned subsidiary at Mauritius was commissioned on December 16. The company already has two wholly-owned subsidiaries – at Sri Lanka and at Singapore – and seven manufacturing units in India. It had been buying Panasonic batteries for its own use but now can sell them through its large distribution network.
