Keio Students Develop Electric Vehicles
A group of Keio University students unveiled
two electric vehicles that feature high acceleration
performance and can run as fast as sports cars,
reports Kyodo News.
Called the Eliica, they run on rechargeable lithium-ion
batteries. One of the two vehicles displayed for
the media preview of the 39th Tokyo Motor Show
recorded a maximum speed of 370km/h during a test
drive in March 2004 in Italy. Measuring five meters
in length, the vehicle (pictured above) has eight
wheels and can travel 100km on only ¥100 worth
of electricity.
