C&D Technologies Opens Center in Texas

C&D Technologies, Inc., Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, is now shipping the Motive Power battery from its new distribution center (DC) facility in Hidalgo, Texas.

The Texas facility distributes for C&D’s Reynosa, Mexico, manufacturing operation. A three-phase program is under way to improve responsiveness and further reduce lead times to C&D’s customers for both Motive Power and Standby Power products

D’Arcy O’Neill, vice president, Motive Power sales, says, “With the rapid expansion of our manufacturing activities in the Reynosa plant over the last several months, relocating the staging and finished goods inventory to the new Hidalgo DC will allow us to respond more quickly to our customer needs for standard product, reducing lead times by an average of three days per order.”

John Kalmuck, vice president, sales, Standby Power division, says, “This facility will enable C&D to respond faster to our customers and to crisis situations like those caused by Hurricane Katrina.”
