Mercury/Cadmium-Free Batteries

Gloso Co. Ltd. of Taiwan, a manufacturer of dry-cell, alkali, and rechargeable batteries, has released mercury-free and cadmium-free dry-cell batteries in AAA, AA, C, and D sizes. The batteries have a nominal voltage of 1.5V and an aluminum foil jacket. A rectangular, 9V version is offered with an iron sheet jacket. The products are marketed under the Novacell brand.
