Toronto Man Wins Ford Escape Hybrid

Just one day after his 14-year-old car quit, Jeff Hamilton of North York found out he had won a two-year lease on a new Ford Escape Hybrid for guessing how far the hybrid SUV would go on one tank of gas.

More than 1,200 people entered Ford of Canada’s “One Tank Challenge” between May 24 and 31, but Hamilton’s guess of 962km was closest to the actual total without going over.

“When my car died on me, I wasn’t sure what I would do,” said Hamilton. “Then the next day, I get a call: I’d won a two-year lease on a brand new Escape Hybrid.”

It took four drivers more than three days to drive one Ford Escape Hybrid as far as they could in downtown Toronto on one fill-up. The Escape Hybrid drove more than 970km on the single tank of gas.
