TDK Aquires Amperex Technology Ltd.
TDK Corp. has completed the acquisition of Amperex
Technology Ltd., a polymer lithium battery manufacturing
and sales company based in Hong Kong, with manufacturing
sites in Dongguan, China. The purchase price for
all assets was US$100 million.
TDK plans to develop materials technology in the
field of energy expecting future growth. ATL has
been specializing in the compact and yet flexible
polymer lithium battery business, and has established
a production system of stable quality based on
its special know-how in materials technology and
production engineering technology.
