Trilayer Battery Separator

Polypore, Inc. subsidiary Celgard LLC now offers Celgard® 2323 trilayer battery separator, targeted for cylindrical lithium-ion cells used in notebook computers and other portable electronic devices. Commercial sales of 2323 began in April to Sony Corp.

Celgard also launched a new 20-micron trilayer battery separator with enhanced mechanical strength properties, which improves the manufacturing efficiency and performance of rechargeable lithium-ion cells used in mobile phones, laptop computers, and other portable electronic applications. Improvements in process development and material selection make Celgard® C300™ a stronger separator while maintaining optimal energy delivery and cell cycling performance. C300 is now available in commercial quantities.
