Tadiran Invests in Tire Pressure Gauge Battery

Tadiran Batteries has d $1 million to set up a new production line for tire pressure gauge batteries at its Kiryat Ekron plant, reports Globes Newsletters Israel.

The new line will produce more than 10 million batteries a year and is a part of the company’s preparations for the U.S. Transportation Recall Enhancement, Accountability and Documentation (TREAD) Act which comes into effect in 2006. The TREAD Act requires that manufacturers equip all new model vehicles with a tire pressure gauge.

The tire pressure monitoring system displays the pressure in each tire on the vehicle’s dashboard. Tadiran’s battery is designed to last for at least ten years inside the tire, under all weather conditions, and meets all temperature specifications.
