Molicel Li-ion Cell

E-One Moli Energy Ltd., a subsidiary of E-One Moli Energy Corp. of Taiwan, has the IMR26700, a high-power, Li-ion cell for high-rate applications suitable for laptop computers, electric bicycles, power tools, and electric or hybrid-electric vehicles.

The 3Ah IMR26700 uses lithium-manganese oxide (LiMN204) in the positive electrode, which allows for higher discharge rates. It can deliver currents in excess of 100A. By eliminating cobalt from the cell, it is possible to produce a much larger cell while providing safety. Further developments of the IMR26700 cell will provide fast charge capability, allowing cells to be fully charged in as little as 15 minutes.

The IMR26700 features a diameter of 26.4mm, a length of 70mm, a weight of 100g, capacity of 3Ah, a standard charging voltage of 42V and 2.5V, an energy density of 285Wh/L, and a power density of 1,500W/kg at 20 seconds.
