Oak Ridge Begins Facility and Equipment Upgrades

Oak Ridge Micro-Energy Inc. of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, has received the first of two deposition toolsets from a manufacturer in Florida. The second and final piece was to be delivered by January 14, 2005. With the installations, the company’s manufacturing capacity will increase by more than 60 times.

The company also received and installed the ancillary equipment needed for the production line, including a closed-loop recirculating chiller with the capacity to meet the requirements of both toolsets, as well as additional toolsets that might be added in the future, and an automated probe for rapid battery testing.

Oak Ridge Micro-Energy Inc. provides thin film, micro-scale, solid-state batteries for commercial, consumer, industrial, homeland security, government and medical applications.
